T3 W4 Blog

This week has been mostly a week of review and revision for me. I had a tutorial and also shot and edited a short video for my project.

During the tutorial, my tutor evaluated what I have completed so far, and pointed out the parts that I need to improve and make more details. I really had a clear understanding of what I needed to modify:

  • Assortment Plan: I should be more explicit about the price of options available for my personalized service. At present, I have only made approximate pricing in terms of shape, print, and detail. However, this is not enough, I need more details on how many units of material for each bag type, and the price per unit of each kind of material, so that the consumers can understand more clearly about this personalized tote bag.
  • Business Marketing Calendar: My current calendar is too simple because I just think of summer sales, easter sales, and some special festivals. I should think more comprehensively. For example, when my brand will launch a new season’s product, and what kind of limited-edition products my brand will launch on some special festivals.
  • Cash Flow Forecast: I should combine it with the marketing calendar to modify the cash flow forecast. At present, the ‘product development’ and ‘advertising’ of my form, only have a specific number, but this cannot show the relationship with the calendar. For example, my brand will have summer sales during July and August, so my brand should put more budget into advertising during this time.

I also shoot a video for my product. The main form of this video is to use a short story to show the inspiration behind the product. The process of shooting actually took a long time, because I needed to find the right angle and shooting method, I made a lot of different attempts. For the editing part, I mainly used the Premier and added background music.

This week I tried something new, and also made changes to my project. I had a clear understanding of my weakness and knew how to improve.
