Time flies, and I have completed the entire IISF study. In the toolbox of term 1, I learned about three different pathways. In term 2, I chose business and started to focus on it. In the last term 3, I discovered more about the fashion business and determined the course that I wanted to study in my undergraduate. I still remember that in learning the toolbox, the most challenging thing for me was drawing design drafts. And what I am most proud of is the presentation, I explained the details and inspiration of my work to my classmates and tutors.
In the whole process of studying at IISF, the most important thing for me to learn and improve is the content about the fashion business. At first, my knowledge of the fashion business was limited to how to do secondary research and swot analysis. But after these nine months of study, I have a deeper understanding of many aspects involved in creating a brand or co-branding two brands, such as product range plan, assortment plan, brand value, and so on. I not only learned something about the fashion business but also my digital skills have been greatly improved. I learned to use much different software like Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Excel. The use of this software is mainly used for layout this year, and I believe that this will also help me a lot in the study process of my undergraduate.
The progression portfolio of term 3 mainly reflects the relationship with my undergraduate course— fashion buying and merchandising. I emphasize several aspects of my product— a personalized tote bag, such as silhouettes and fabrics. For the assortment plan, I also made very detailed information for each section. In addition, I also completed the cash flow forecast according to the marketing calendar.
I have gained a lot of knowledge in the whole study of IISF, and my ability has also been greatly improved. This is a very unforgettable memory of my college life.
